Appearance
Soshiro's father is an imposing, athletic middle-aged man with narrow eyes, slicked-back black hair, and a bushy beard. He usually wears traditional swordsmanship robes, reflecting his role as a swordsman and instructor, though as a Defense Force officer he donned the standard combat suit issued to officers.
Personality
He comes across as a serious and rational individual, deeply committed to the art of swordsmanship. Because of this dedication, he retired from the Defense Force and did not hesitate to advise his young son Soshiro to give up on joining the Force. He firmly believes that the era of blades has passed and that an officer without proficiency in firearms cannot succeed in the modern Defense Force.
Plot
Raid on Tachikawa Base Arc
While battling the giant Kaiju No. 10, Soshiro recalled his father’s words and channeled his newfound resolve into the fight, determined to defeat the Daikaiju and prove that serving in the Third Division was the most important aspect of his life.
