Reno Ichikawa

Reno is a tall, slender young man with short silver hair and large violet eyes. He typically maintains a neutral, unfazed expression, though he often displays exasperation or incredulity when around Kafka. Early in the series, Reno wore the standard Defense Force combat suit in battle. His current combat suit, however, is unique: a Numbers Weapon crafted from Kaiju No. 6’s corpse. This dark-blue armored suit features pipes and pistons on the back and shoulders, the Izumo Tech logo on the left side of the chest plate, and the 006 insignia on the chest.

Reno is a calm and collected individual. Although he initially antagonizes Kafka for giving up on his dream, he gradually reveals a softer and more caring side, showing concern for Kafka’s condition and goals. As their friendship deepens, Reno becomes increasingly protective—not only of Kafka but of all his comrades. His strong sense of responsibility drives him to prioritize the safety of others, even over rivalries, such as Iharu Furuhashi’s one-sided competition with him. In battle, Reno is determined and straightforward, a natural thinker who assesses situations independently. His desire to grow stronger and protect those around him sometimes pushes him to extreme limits, with extended use of his Numbers Weapon causing him to risk spiraling out of control to ensure his colleagues’ safety.
