• Sagamihara Neutralization Operation at Daybreak Arc

  This arc escalates the stakes as Kafka and his squad face their first real deployment in Sagamihara. When a powerful daikaiju leads a horde into the city at dawn, the Defense Force races to contain the threat. Kafka must choose between secrecy and survival when his squadmates’ lives hang in the balance.

• Raid on Tachikawa Base Arc

  Kaiju No. 9 launches a calculated strike on Tachikawa Base, revealing its ability to speak, strategize, and create minions. Kafka and the Third Division must defend the base while keeping Kafka’s identity secret, leading to a critical confrontation that shifts the series’ power dynamics.

• Kaiju No. 8 Captured Arc

  Kafka is forced to surrender himself after multiple kaiju transformations. The Defense Force detains him as a potential national threat. As Kafka’s friends grapple with the truth, internal politics threaten to end Kafka’s journey permanently — until an unexpected figure intervenes.

• Kaiju Weapon Arc

  Following his narrow escape from execution, Kafka returns to active duty as a state-approved weapon. Under constant surveillance, he trains harder than ever and participates in operations that test the limits of his control and his value to the Force. Meanwhile, new numbered weapons and threats begin to emerge, shifting the kaiju war into a new technological phase.

• The Compatible User Arc

  As Kafka continues proving his worth on the battlefield, Reno Ichikawa is selected as a candidate to wield Numbered Weapon No. 6 — the most dangerous and demanding weapon in the Defense Force’s arsenal. His journey tests his body, mind, and resolve while Kaiju No. 9 begins deploying smarter and deadlier humanoid types.

• Cataclysms Arc

  Kaiju No. 9 executes a massive coordinated strike, spawning intelligent kaiju generals to attack multiple Defense Force divisions across the country. Kafka, Reno, Kikoru, and the Third Division must split up to defend key cities while battling kaiju with strategies and power unlike anything seen before.

• The Second Wave Arc

  Kaiju No. 9 escalates the war with a new generation of hyper-intelligent humanoid kaiju and mass-scale biological weapons.
