Plot
The Man Who Became a Kaiju Arc
Mizoguchi oversaw the disposal operation of Philinosoma after it was neutralized by the Third Division. He assigned Kafka Hibino to work in the intestines and personally forced him to comply when he attempted to refuse. The following day, Mizoguchi organized his crew into different sectors, assigning Kafka to the intestines alongside Reno Ichikawa on his first day of work. Observing Kafka’s determination to complete the task efficiently, Mizoguchi noted that Kafka could have made a capable Defense Force officer, though he considered it fortunate to have him as a kaiju disposer. Three months later, while discussions about Kaiju No. 8 were underway, Mizoguchi approached Reno to deliver letters from the Defense Force addressed to both him and Kafka.
