Konomi is a petite young woman with black hair typically styled in a ponytail and large dark eyes framed by oversized round glasses. She is usually seen wearing the standard Defense Force uniform, which appears slightly oversized on her slender frame.
Personality
Konomi is a determined and professional individual who often disapproves of Soshiro's unprofessional remarks and laughter, showing deep concern for him and for the safety of others. In return, she is held in high regard by Soshiro. While on duty, Konomi demonstrates a serious and focused demeanor, quickly assessing situations to provide support to her comrades. She is also noted for her exceptional intuition and analytical skills.
Plot
The Man Who Became a Kaiju Arc
During the aptitude test, Konomi monitored the vitals of the examinees alongside Soshiro Hoshina. When an unknown humanoid kaiju resurrected and enhanced one of the test Kaiju, Kikoru was injured while trying to hold the line for the others to escape. Using the sensors, Konomi determined that the revived Honju now had a fortitude of 6.4, an unprecedented level, and was left to monitor the situation via surveillance feeds as Ashiro and Hoshina went to the training grounds with armed gear. She soon detected a separate, even stronger energy surge nearby, which she reported to the Third Division's Captain and Vice-Captain. Visual confirmation was impossible due to dust and debris, but sensor readings indicated that this new organism had a fortitude exceeding 9.8.
Sagamihara Neutralization Operation at Daybreak Arc
Months later, Konomi assisted the Defense Force in combating a Fungal-type kaiju by relaying Kafka Hibino's discovery of the Yoju's core location. She later accompanied Vice-Captain Hoshina to interview employees at the Professional Kaiju Cleaning Company, Monster Sweeper Inc., regarding their new worker, Takamichi Hotaka.
Raid on Tachikawa Base Arc
At the start of the raid, Konomi intercepted multiple kaiju and relayed Soshiro's orders to the rest of the Defense Force. She assisted Soshiro in his battle against a new humanoid kaiju and later supported him, Captain Mina Ashiro, and Kikoru Shinomiya in finishing off the creature. After the kaiju was seemingly defeated, a massive yoju-bomb fell from the sky, and Okonogi detected the presence of a kaiju with a fortitude of 9.8. Having already observed these stats, Konomi informed everyone that Kaiju No. 8 had appeared on the scene.
Cataclysms Arc
During the Third Division’s response to the cataclysms, Konomi monitored and followed Vice-Captain Soshiro as he fought using Numbers Weapon 10, which contained the consciousness of Kaiju No. 10, causing her considerable concern.
The Second Wave Arc
After Soshiro’s mission at Chofu Airport, Konomi monitored his battle with Kaiju No. 12 and was shocked to see the kaiju putting him on the defensive. She theorized that the creature had been created specifically to counter Soshiro, a notion later confirmed by Keiji. Continuing to observe the fight, Konomi witnessed her Vice-Captain unleash the full combat power of Numbers Weapon 10.

Although not directly active on the battlefield, Konomi serves as a skilled analyst and operations leader for the Third Division. Her ability to rapidly assess situations and provide strategic support to officers during combat has been instrumental in securing victory on multiple occasions.
