Appearance
Eiji Hasegawa is an imposing figure, towering over most around him with a bald head, muscular build, and striking red eyes that lack eyebrows. His face bears a prominent scar over his left eye, along with additional marks on his jaw and the sides of his head, complemented by a faint mustache. On duty, he wears the standard uniform of the Defense Force, but in combat, he dons a heavy, reinforced battle suit equipped with shoulder-mounted machine guns, emphasizing his formidable presence on the battlefield.

Eiji is a highly professional and disciplined individual who approaches his duties with unwavering seriousness, often putting him at odds with Captain Gen Narumi’s more childish antics—so much so that he has once kicked Gen without hesitation. His strict and uncompromising attitude, combined with his natural leadership within the First Division, has earned him deep respect not only from his own team but also from officers across other divisions, as exemplified by Third Division Vice-Captain Soshiro Hoshina’s apparent delight at seeing him.

Later on, Eiji joined other Defense Force leaders to review fourteen unresolved kaiju incidents suspected to be caused by No. 9, assuring his colleagues that the Numbers Weapon users were ready for deployment.
