Plot
The Man Who Became a Kaiju Arc
Bakko participated in an operation alongside Mina Ashiro and other Defense Force members to rescue Kafka Hibino and Leno Ichikawa from a kaiju attack. He was later seen at Mina’s apartment during the appearance of a new humanoid kaiju, the future Kaiju No. 8.
The tiger also appeared briefly during a training montage while Mina was overseeing Third Division exercises. In an unusual display, Bakko roared angrily at Kafka Hibino, startling Mina and the other members due to his normally docile nature. Mina quickly calmed him, after which Bakko was gently petted by Kikoru Akari and Hakua.
Raid on Tachikawa Base Arc
Following Mina Ashiro’s brief absence from Tachikawa Base, she and Bakko returned to protect the facility from an attack by Kaiju No. 10, who was accompanied by a swarm of kaiju.
Trivia
Bakko holds the distinction of being the first animal introduced in the series.
